Cylinder Cross Section

A cylinder could be defined as a three dimensional surface created by equidistant points from a line segment extending in space.
Cylinder cross section. The area of a circle is given by the formula πr 2 where r is the radius. A cross section of a solid right circular cylinder extending between two bases is a disk if the cross section is parallel to the cylinder s base or an elliptic region see diagram at right if it is neither parallel nor perpendicular to the base. The cross section of this circular cylinder is a circle we don t draw the rest of the object just the shape made when you cut through.
The cross sectional areais the area of a two dimensional shape that is obtained when a three dimensional object such as a cylinder is sliced perpendicular to some specified axis at a point. Cross sectional area of a cylinder a cylinder is a solid created by extending a circle through space perpendicular to its diameter. A cross section is a perpendicular section of any geometrical object which is taken perpendicular to the longest axis passing through it.
The cross sectional area of a cylinder is equal to the area of a circle if cut parallel to the circular base. For a cylinder cross section area is the area of the circle firmed at its base. A plumbing pipe piece is an example of a cylindrical object.
The height length of circle has no relevance in case of cross section area.
