Guidance for ofsted inspectors carrying out school inspections under section 8 of the education act 2005.
Section 5 ofsted. Where there is evidence that suggests a school may be inadequate in one or more of the graded judgements that would be made during a section 5 inspection the inspection will be converted to a full inspection usually within 48 hours. Currently on routine section 5 inspections it is often the case that inspectors give schools the opportunity to amend any administrative errors in the single central record in order to ensure it meets requirements. The modern rules section 5 of the education act 2005 means that inspections are much quicker and at shorter notice so teachers don t have time to do a tidy up but are also not subjected to pre inspection stress.
